Common Pump Station Design
The South East Council User Group has recognised the long term benefits of investing in and maintaining the common pump station control systems. This regulation and compliance of community waste water management systems involved the Councils of Wattle Range, Robe, Tatiara, Naracoorte-Lucindale, Grant and Kingston.
APC Integration headed the common design of the pump stations. This design included the installation and use of a Siemens WinCC SCADA, and communication system, in addition to the upgrade of existing pump stations. The new system allows for communication between all involved pump stations, and secure access to maintenance and off-site backups when required.
The new design is cost effective and councils will also benefit from environmental and operational advantages. The automation of these systems will allow better control from Councils and also reduce the chance of spillages.
APC Integration have successfully integrated various products, and used the Telstra Next G network to innovate the common pump station design. This project and design has the potential for further implementation across South Australia, as well as other regions in Australia.
